Private Consultations for heart problems

I offer clinic consultations for people with symptoms that may be due to heart problems.

I often see patients with problems such as breathlessness, leg swelling, palpitations (awareness of an abnormal heart beat), blackouts or collapse, or chest pain. More information about some of these conditions.

In the clinic at the Manor Hospital I will make a full assessment of your symptoms and medical problems, and arrange diagnostic tests as needed. I can normally see you within a week or two.

I am registered with all major health insurance companies, including BUPA (link to finder profile), Aviva, Vitality Health, AXA PPP, Healix, and WPA.

If you have health insurance, almost all the insurers will require that your GP refers you to me before they will pay – they can refer via the details on the contact page.

If you are paying yourself for the consultation, then you do not need a referral and I will see you directly, please get in contact.

NHS Consultations

I see NHS patients at the John Radcliffe Hospital, after a referral from their GP either to me directly or via referral to the heart failure service.

Pacemakers and related procedures

I perform procedures (in effect, small operations) to place pacemakers, as well as the similar devices implantable defibrillators (ICDs) and Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy Defibrillators and Pacemakers (CRT-D, CRT-P). For my private patients I will normally do the procedure at the Manor Hospital. For NHS patients and some private patients, these are done at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

If I think a patient needs a procedure I do not personally perform, I have an excellent group of colleagues I can refer you on to.

More information about pacemakers is available here.
