I am a Consultant Cardiologist (heart specialist), based predominantly at the Oxford Heart Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
I trained in Cambridge and Oxford medical schools. I have been working as a specialist in Cardiology in Oxford since 2012 and have been a Consultant here since 2017. I see patients with all cardiac conditions, although I specialise particularly in the treatment of patients with heart failure and the implantation of pacemakers and related devices.
I implant over 150 pacemakers and similar devices annually (typically around 100 pacemakers, 30 CRT and 30 ICD). I run two NHS clinics weekly seeing patients with heart failure and other cardiac problems.
I have published over 40 scientific papers, predominantly in the field of cardiac resynchronisation therapy and heart failure. During my training I spent some years undertaking a research project in this field, including winning a national prize for this work, and gaining the Doctorate of Medicine higher degree from Oxford University. You can view a list of my publications.
I am a member of the Royal College of Physicians, and of the British Cardiac Society, as well as the British Heart Rhythm Society and the British Heart Failure Society.
